Diversity and Inclusion
As an industry and community leader, Welltower has demonstrated a firm commitment to the expansion and support of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) across multiple different categories in the workplace. To carry out Welltower’s core values, the company launched its Welltower Diversity & Inclusion Council (“Diversity Council”) in 2019. Led by the Diversity Council, Welltower has encouraged and expanded its focus on demographic diversity within the workplace through the successful launch of several Employee Network Groups (ENGs), including the African American ENG, Armed Forces ENG, Hispanic ENG, LGBTQIA+ ENG, Parents ENG, South Asian ENG, Well+CORE Women’s ENG and Young Professionals ENG.
Welltower also honors multiple days and months for JEDI-aligned education and remembrance, including: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Memorial Day, Pride Month, Juneteenth and Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Welltower Charitable Foundation
The Welltower Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”) actively seeks to promote JEDI, employee engagement and the charitable passions of all Welltower employees. Since early 2016, Welltower and the Foundation have provided more than $42 million in cash and in-kind support to programs and communities that align with our philanthropic priorities. In 2020, the Foundation announced a new structure to include employee matching, corporate charitable grant initiatives and an allocation of funds to each ENG to make charitable contributions. Our most recent donations include organizations that support our core values of diversity, inclusion, community and the environment.
